EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps your brain fully process painful or overwhelming experiences, so you no longer feel weighed down by them.

Sometimes, when something distressing happens, your brain doesn’t get the chance to process it all the way through. Instead, the memory can get “stuck”—along with the emotions, body sensations, and negative beliefs that came with it. That’s why you might still feel triggered, anxious, or emotionally numb even if the experience happened years ago.

EMDR allows your brain to reprocess what happened in a way that feels safer and more manageable. You don’t have to relive every detail or explain everything perfectly for it to work.

Over time, many people notice:

  • Memories feel less intense

  • Triggers don’t hit as hard

  • Negative beliefs like “I’m not good enough” begin to shift

  • They feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control

You’re not forgetting what happened—you’re just no longer reliving it.
